Manouk Verhoeven
Manouk obtained her Bachelor diploma in Biomedical Sciences in 2017 at the University of Maastricht, the Netherlands. Since September 2018, she is doing her Master Biomedical Sciences, Oncology track, at the University of Amsterdam. Her first master internship was at the lab of Rogier Versteeg at the Amsterdam Medical Centre, working on a chromatin remodeling complex subunit and its role in the transdifferentiation of neuroblastoma cells.
Manouk started her PhD studies in the Baryawno lab in October 2020. The focus of her thesis is to characterize the immune cell landscape of human neuroblastoma and medulloblastoma. The aim is to unravel the immune landscape of these tumors with the hope to identify tumor-associated alterations in subsets of immune cells that may be targeted for therapy.
